Care Ministry Team

Care Team members usually meet on the 1st Wednesday evening of the month to coordinate the efforts of the ministry.  Our activities include: preparing mailings, maintenance of volunteer data bases, making phone calls, funeral luncheon planning, greeting card team support, and the planning & hosting our four annual events/projects including:  Annual COTR Remembrance Service in November, Christmas Poinsettia and Easter Lily Memorial Flower Orders, and our Annual Ministry Sunday where we recruit volunteers for our support services data base.

A home cooked meal can be a welcome and simple way to say " We Care” following a hospitalization, birth of new baby, funeral, etc. and is the most requested service we help coordinate.  Care Team will help with meal suggestions and guidelines.

New! We just started using an email based website for meal coordination called It includes:
  • Real-time meal calendar
  • Ability to customize dates, times, and meal preferences
  • Invitations via e-mail and facebook
  • Reminder emails
  • Add booked dates to a personal calendar automatically
  • Ensure that everyone has the necessary information so they can focus on supporting friends with meals.
Just follow these simple instructions to volunteer:

Funeral Luncheons

COTR provides main entree.  Care Team makes calls to coordinate the volunteers who set up and serve and who supply the additional side dishes needed for the luncheon.

Greeting Cards

COTR supplies the cards and postage.  This team of dedicated volunteers delivers prayerful greetings for special occasions/needs such as births, get well, support, bereavement, etc.  The team works on a rotating monthly schedule, so  you can choose which months of the year you want to assist.
